We at Hydyne Motorsport share your passion for automobiles. It is that passion that drives us to manufacture products that have the highest quality on the market, while at the same time having excellent aesthetics. We are also racers. That gives the insight on how to build wheels, and aerodynamic products that will meet today’s extreme demands of sports car racing.
The main characteristic of Hydyne Motorsport wheels is that they are designed for strength and performance. The knowledge gained over the last 10 years is reflected in the product. Our wheels can be made to either competition spec using titanium bolts and military-spec lightweight jet-nuts to reduce weight in the most critical point, the perimeter of the wheel, or can be made for purely street oriented applications with touches that enhance their looks. The forged wheel center used in our three piece wheels also has unnecessary aluminium removed to reduce the weight as much as possible without sacrificing strength. And to optimize further, the rim material is lighter and stronger with the use of 6061-T6 aluminium. Our monoblock wheels are also made from 6061-T6 aluminium to have the lightest possible wheel while maintaining strength.
Before Hydyne Motorsport releases a new design, it is tested using computer stress analysis. The computer model enables us to analyze the design under a simulated load and optimize it before machining begins. Then we test our finished products beyond SAE standards and use real-life racing variables when determining our test criteria.
Whether on the track or the street we take the safety of you, our customer, very seriously.
Hydyne Motorsport centers are created using a 6000 ton hydraulic press - a modernized version of forging proven successful for hundreds of years. The press forges the wheel center into its general shape. It is then CNC machined to create the design style.
Why forged? Forging aligns the grain structure, reduces porosity, and increases uniformity in the material, thereby increasing the strength to weight ratio with consistent results. Forging also allows the use of 6061 material which can be heat treated to be 40% stronger than cast aluminum.
Why use Hydyne Motorsport wheels? Experience, dedication, and personal involvement of the owners and employees assure that the quality, strength, durability, and weight of every Hydyne Motorsport wheel is unparalleled in the industry.
